Scottie 03:44
Scottie do you think I can sing? Do you… maybe… think I’m something? I think I’m nothing.. I don’t know if I’m white or black In fact/I think I may/be gray Scottie, what do you say, boy? What do you say? Scottie, what do you say, boy? I don’t know if I’m ready to be a colour, lover Scottie, what are you thinkin’? Did I start to sink in? Counting down from five I’m a lie, I’m alive Five, four, three Scottie don’t fall for me.. Scottie, please fall in love with me But not the me that you see pretending to be The next big thing, the only thing That something that’ll make you smile Scottie, do I make you smile? Scottie, will you stay a while? Is this another tribulation Or should I start the celebration? Oh… I know… my soul starts to show Oh… you know… I’m faking it. I’m full of sshhh—hush now Listen, Scottie, do you hear my heart beat? Did you hear my heart skip a beat? Now listen to it—STOP You make me stop; you can make my heart stop Scottie do you think I can sing? Do you… maybe… think I’m something? I think I’m nothing… I don’t know/if I’ll go/away, in fact I think I may just stay… Scottie, what do you say, boy?

verse 1 I see you lookin’ at me, and I’m lookin’ atchu I donno what to say, donno how to act, donno what to do I got this feeling, and I know you feel it too So why you try to hide or deny it, you know it’s true… CHORUS I’m fa-la-la-la-la falling for you (x2) I’m flying high, sky diving without my parachute I’m free falling for you -whistles ukulele riff- verse 2 Are you gonna say hello to me tonight And if you go, can I come home with you, is that all right? ‘cause I’m… {CHORUS} x 2
3.
verse 1 I once walked into a man. He told me, “Listen up girl,” (he said) “you gotta go. Go! Get out of here! “There’s a train that’ll take you where you need to be” I asked, “Where does it go?” He shrugged, said “I dunno, Honey, you tell me” “But what am I running from and why can’t I go back?” “People’s smiles may be white but their insides are black.” “This is happening so quickly, can I take somebody with me?” “You already have all you need, you’ll see” He said to me… Pre-chorus What are you waiting for? Why are you still here? (x2) CHORUS The show is over now we wait for the applause There’s that awkward silent pause And I— I can’t believe that you would die for that cause And now you’re breaking your own laws And making up lies Your lies... your lies… verse 2 Still trying to figure out if I was right or wrong I haven’t slept in so long, so long, so long So I bought my ticket, there was no time to waste And I boarded the train with exceptional haste I wanted adventure, not just a taste I had to get out of that place The anxiety/is killing me/where does it lead?/I cannot see These raindrops/they never stop/I miss you a lot/forget me not Don’t forget me (x2) {Pre-chorus→CHORUS}

verse 1 Get out, please get off of my mind/for when the lights go out I cannot sleep Without the thought of you thinking of me/now I wait while I weep This cannot wait a month/my heart has nearly died too And it's only been a day/since I've seen you CHORUS Lighting candles, pretty flickering flames to remind me of you All my needs go up with the smoke, all I need is you Lighting candles, pretty flickering flames to remind me of you All my wants and needs and fears disappear with the smoke, all I need is you -Scat section- verse 2 Now it's cold and it's dark, and you're standing there in the moonlight. So far to touch, yet so close in my memories of that one night So this is love, this never ceasing hopeless feeling that exists in me How I long to see those eyes again, but time's a fee. {CHORUS} -scat section-
5.

Non merci, c'est très gentil, but it's not for me CHORUS It's the peacock chameleon dance (x4) Dance, dance, dance (x2) verse 2 You got your head up in the clouds While your feet are stompin' on the ground You know you got to be loud but sshhh don't make a sound.... about

Alanna Sterling is a multi-talented singer/songwriter born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her original sui generis music combines rock’n’roll, jazz-blues and folk tones with her powerful voice, diverse instrumental ability and uniquely crafted lyrics to create a sound that is unlike anything you’ve heard before.
Since starting on the piano at the mere age of two, she has taught herself to play over a dozen instruments including trumpet, clarinet, bassoon, and drums. Listen as her dynamic voice changes from a rugged, raspy modern Janis Joplin copy to that mystifying delicate siren, over an impressive range of three and a half octaves.
Music is genuinely her mother tongue and language of choice, and with each song she writes, she tells a story. One of her goals as a songwriter is to share her experiences with others, hoping that the audience may able to relate in some way, and overcome some of their personal struggles, just as music has been her go-to method of overcoming her own trials and tribulations.
